Automation Testing Challenges

The first challenge we faced with Roamler involved in test automation. Prior to us joining the team there was no automation and the whole project tended to be unprepared for our scripts. After working together for a couple of weeks we were able to influence our client’s thinking and help them build new features with test automation in mind. This is merely a beginning, but we can already see that these tests are accepted, along with our tips, which is why we were asked to prepare some guidelines about what to have in mind for further features and refactors.

Another challenge was the way of releasing new versions of the app. Instead of having it cut into sprints, it shifted towards “feature-related” releases with various development time. This required us to be just as agile as the rest of the team – always ready to test in order to not block the release. Though with our experience and the Roamler team’s help and understanding we were able to easily overcome it.
